Growth Spurt: Meet the Mane Land Staff (So Far)

We’ve been almost two weeks now and things are really starting to take off. We’ve got big plans for this little Orlando City blog. We can’t talk about all of them yet (soon!), but we’re pretty excited about where we’re headed.

Some introductions are in order.

I’m Michael Citro and I live in Orlando. I’ve been blogging for several years, covering Ohio State football and basketball, first for and the last couple of years for I’ve been a supporter of Orlando City since their arrival in The City Beautiful, although I didn’t join any supporters groups (I’ve sat with them at games though! Fun!).

I’ve been to quite a few matches, though probably not nearly as many as a lot of you. Some of my favorites were the friendly victory over Newcastle on Kevin Molino’s goal, and the  USL Pro quarterfinal and semifinal playoff wins in 2011.

I’m pleased to announce the arrival of two new writers for the site, both of whom are starting this week, after responding to our call for contributors recently (and if you’re interested in joining the team, let us know while we still have room on the staff). Both guys are experienced soccer bloggers and will make excellent additions to the Mane Land team.

Joseph Morgan has also written about our Lions over at and has covered Chivas USA for The Goat Parade over at SB Nation.

I look forward to unleashing both of these guys on you, and they’ll get started this week. Please click the links on their names and follow them on Twitter, and be sure to follow the site’s main twitter feed (@TheManeLand). We have a Facebook presence as well. Get in now, so you can lord it over your friends later.

This is the very beginning of something we’re excited about. Our plan is to bring you the best Orlando City coverage on the interwebs, and our future growth will include a regular podcast, technical analysis of matches, and more.

Glad to have you along for Orlando City’s jump to MLS.
