The Mane Land is a blog about Orlando City Soccer Club, occasionally dipping our toes into other soccer happenings. We’re going to be SB Nation’s official OCSC blog (moving to SBN soon!). Follow us on Twitter and “Like” us on Facebook.

Michael is a communications and public relations professional who has spent much of his career in sports. He covered professional, college and high school sports as a staff writer for the Amarillo Globe-News; was director of communications for two different minor league hockey franchises; and spent five years in the communications department with the NHL’s Florida Panthers. An Ohio State graduate, Michael is also a Buckeye blogger and podcaster with Eleven Warriors. An avid soccer fan, he has followed Orlando City since its inception. He also follows Manchester United, Celtic, Atlético Madrid, AS Roma, Borussia Monchengladbach and his hometown Columbus Crew.
Assistant Editor & Senior Columnist
Andrew has a master’s degree in organizational psychology and did his undergrad at the University of Florida. His MLS loyalties are divided between his hometown team (DC United) and his adopted club (Orlando City). He is an American Outlaw and writes about the USMNT for The Yanks are Coming. At 6-foot-1, 220 pounds, the former college rugby player is told that he is not a fun striker to defend in pub league soccer. Speaking of pubs, Andrew’s a huge craft beer nerd and will probably post a beer/brewery review now and again.
Writer & Video Editor
Austin is a graduating senior from Rollins College with a degree in English. For the past four years, he has been an assistant coach for the Rollins basketball team and is currently the color commentator for the men’s and women’s soccer games. He co-hosts the Community Sports Report, a weekly sports talk show, which can be heard locally every Thursday from 4-5 p.m. on 91.5 FM. Being half British, Austin has been around soccer culture most of his life and has covered Orlando City since its inception. He is also an avid Chelsea supporter and an incredibly gifted FIFA player.
Kevin is a lifelong Floridian pursuing his master’s degree in history at the University of Central Florida. A passionate Orlando City supporter since the start, he is a lifelong soccer fan with scattered allegiances across Europe. He has played the game since he was able to walk, and only recently hung up his cleats before things got really embarrassing, or, as he says, to go “to grad school.” Previously, Kevin has written music reviews, concert reviews, and social critiques for both print and online sources. When he isn’t lost in a history archive or scoring improbable FIFA goals, he enjoys loud music, good food, better whiskey, and the company of great friends.
While earning his finance degree, John played four years of college soccer at William Carey University in the NAIA, where his team reached the Final Four. He recently moved to Florida and adopted OCSC as his MLS club. Prior to his move, John was a founding member of American Outlaws: Hattiesburg Chapter. His primary passion lies with the USMNT but he focuses on all things in the American soccer world. When it comes to soccer across the pond, he is gunner through and through. During his free time he runs his own soccer blog with his brother, Box to Box. He also compulsively plays FIFA and is currently accepting challenges.
A graduate of Clemson University and a professional content writer, Sean has had a lifelong obsession with soccer both as a player and spectator. He gratefully attended the 1994 FIFA World Cup, 1996 Olympic soccer tournament, and games in MLS’ inaugural season. Growing up in central Florida without a local club to support, he was thrilled when Orlando City arrived to fill that void. Sean has previously contributed to other sports blogs and, in addition to OCSC, is an avid supporter of the United States National Team.
A UCF graduate and 10-year IT technician, Jeff has been passionate about soccer since Orlando hosted matches for the FIFA World Cup in 1994. Previously loyal in MLS to Houston Dynamo, he has followed Orlando City from its earliest beginnings, and is one of the founders of its first supporters’ groups, The Ruckus. He is also a previous blogger, having written the blog Reeves’ Army prior to the MLS announcement. He is also loyal to Rangers, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Guangzhou Evergrande, Mumbai City, and Jacksonville Armada.
Louisville City FC Correspondent
A history student at the University of Louisville, Jeff’s interest in soccer began with Zidane’s head butt in the 2006 World Cup Final, and has since grown from an interest into a full-blown, unhealthy obsession. A native of Louisville, Kentucky, he covers Orlando City’s USL Pro affiliate club, Louisville City FC, for The Mane Land. Besides his soccer interests, he is an avid basketball fan, superb FIFA player, and terrible to mediocre poker player.
A senior at Florida State University, Casey is studying information, communication and technology. He is a sports reporter for the FSU campus radio station. A newer soccer fan, he has fallen in love with the game and MLS. Casey supports two MLS sides, Orlando City and Seattle, and is also a huge Chelsea fan. His ultimate goal is to work in sports.
